Love My Body Now Series: Wearing Power Colors.

This
weekend past I had a friend with a big audition the next day. I said to her,
"Okay, you better wear your power color." To which she replied,
"what's that?" Each of us have colors that seem to "pop"
against our skin and hair. It's that color that everyone tells you they love on
you, every single time you wear it. In my opinion wearing a color that's unattractive
is equally deplorable as wearing clothes that are ill fitting and wrong for
one's body type.

Determining power colors:

There are
four seasons that your skin tones can pull from:

1.      Spring-Usually have golden undertones in
skin, peachy, or creamy white. Hair is usually strawberry, or blonde, you have
freckles and eyes are blue or green.

2.    Summer-Blue or pink undertones, skin is
pale or pinkish, usually blondes or brunettes with light colored eyes.

3.    Fall-Golden undertones in skin, most
redheads are falls along with brunettes with hazel eyes.

4.    Winter-Usually have blue or pink
undertones, most Asians and African Americans or brunettes with brown eyes.

Colors that flatter your season:

1.      Spring: think buttery colors, peaches,
champagne, golden yellow, purples, aqua, peachy pinks. Avoid Dark/Dull colors

2.    Summer: think sage, sea blues and greens,
rosy pinks, lavender, aqua, plum. Avoid: Black and Orange

3.    Autumn: think beige, gray, harvest golds,
sapphire blue, emerald green. Avoid navy and black.

4.    Winter: think red, navy, white, bright
pinks, harvest gold. Avoid: beige, gold and orange

I hope
that by recognizing your power colors it will aid you in feeling like the
glamorous, beautiful creature that you are. Now that you know how to dress your
body type, and have a knowledge of what colors flatter your skins tone; You can
enjoy shopping with a new found sense of ease and purpose!
