Frightening Definitions.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary a winner and loser are defined as such;

winner
  1. one that is successful especially through praiseworthy ability and hard work
  2. a victor especially in games or sports
  3. one that wins admiration

loser
  1. a person or thing that loses especially or consistently
  2. a person who is incompetent or unable to succeed; also: doomed to fail or disappoint

I'm feeling a wee bit loser-ish this evening. This year has been capitulated by the secondary definition. I feel uneasy with my constancy in losing. The definition of insanity is repeating the same actions over again and expecting a different result. Am I lacking sanity? Am I the epitome of a loser, "doomed to fail or disappoint?" This is rhetorical of course, but completely and utterly fascinating. I've always believed the cliche "slow and steady wins the race." Perhaps that's something we tell little Suzy while patting her on the head before sending her to bed.
