Culture Club: First and Hope Restaurant.

Combine a breath taking venue with unorthodox food pairings, fold in 1940's styled uniforms {designed by MAD MEN costumer Allison Leach} and you've got First and Hope of Los Angeles.  Saturday evening we reserved a table for four at this mid-century vibe eatery.  I'm always impressed by an establishment that offers an amuse bouche accompanied with a tangible theme.  Therefore, I was instantly smitten.

We only dined for dessert, but were dazzled by the odd selection.  I had a marshmallow, lemon custard macaroon.  Husband had the NYPD Shakedown consisting of mini Boston creme doughnuts, a decadent chocolate dipping sauce and a mini strawberry milkshake.  My pal Rachel had the 7 Deadly Sins of Chocolate.  All in all the confectioner was new best friend.  This is definitely a stop worth your time and money.  {images via L.A.
