Our Bedroom... I wish

After having a wonderful party here last night, it became apparent how much I have neglected our bedroom in our renovations... I felt bad for the actual room as I showed our guests on a "tour" of our home. I quickly rushed guests past the door because the rest of the home is so much grander. That being said, I think it is time to begin brainstorming about bedroom spaces...

I only have a few requirements... I want a somewhat neutral color scheme, and an elegant, rich feel. I want to feel like my bedroom is a luxurious retreat, not JUST a style statement. That being said, the above picture is serving as inspiration for me (the early-American look just gets me... big surprise). I'm looking at possible layouts and textiles, but would REALLY appreciate any suggestions. So... here we go again!

Who Can You Blame?

Who can you blame for why you are, the way you are?  Are you a product of nature or nurture?  A mixture of both?  Perhaps you are a result of your environment.

I am kind.

I have a short temper.

I am loving, and tactile.

I am impatient.

I've never slapped anyone, but I've wanted to.

I don't seek revenge.

I am envious.

I think I deserve more than I should.

I am often misunderstood.

I'm not bitter.

I see the glass half-full.

I believe in turning off the t.v. when someone is speaking.

I believe in polka-dots.

I believe in ice cream sandwiches.

I always thought I would amount to something.

I'm not there yet.

I pinch pennies.

I over spend.

I can let things go-sometimes.

I day dream.

I'm not great at following directions, figuratively or literally

I picked up shards of who I am from everyone I know.  My family, my friends, teachers, mentors, my enemies....they have composed who I am today.  I blame them all, and thank them.

Most Rentable: Center Stage.

At one point I owned this little ditty on VHS!  I know, that's so 2000's.  If you haven't seen Center Stage, you MUST rent it.  If you have seen it, watch it again!  The plot surrounds Jodi Sawyer, a dancer recently accepted into the American Ballet Academy.  Jodi constantly is at the center of ridicule and criticism by her instructors.  Try as she might, she can't improve her turn out and make up for her "lack of technique."  Then Cooper Nielson happens.  And you'll have to rent the film to find out what that means.  P.S. I still want to be a ballerina when I grow up.

Where in the world is....Bryan Yazzie?

Where in the world is Bryan Yazzie?  Quebec, Canada.  Urban Outfitters is opening a new store, and Bryan is part of the team.  Not only is he designing, but he's serving as translator between the contractors and employees.  {I would love to be a fly on the wall to watch this unfold.  He NEVER speaks French to me.}  He was practicing his French while I was at work, watching French films, and blowing the dust off our French work books.

We haven't really been able to talk since roaming is $0.73 per minute. But, he texted that he's absolutely loving his time there.  He hasn't returned to Quebec for over eight years.  {He served a mission in Quebec and Montreal.}  Hopefully we can return together some day soon.

Creativity Tuesday: Plans For Fall.

I'm helplessly in love with fall.  I remember my first true seasonal fall in Missouri.  It was pure magic.  Ever since that colorful, crisp season I've been hooked.  I'm looking forward to apple cider, frosted sugar cookies, my 4th Annual Chili and Pumpkin Carving Party see last year's event {here.}, my Birthday, making fall decorations and going to the apple orchard with friends.  What are your fall plans?{image sources unknown.}
