Best Place to get a Macaron in L.A.:

I love French Macarons.  NOT to be confused with macaroons.  The confectioneries are equal parts pretty and scrumptious.  I've made it my mission, and my friend's duty to help me find the best macarons in the city.  Have you tried a macaron yet?

  1. {Figaro's} of Los Feliz wins for "The venue feels like it's really in France award."

  2. {Paulette's} of Beverly Hills wins for "Best selection award" for it's rows of unconventional flavors; try the rose and hazelnut!

  3. {Euro Pane Cafe} of Pasadena wins for "best packaging with Flair award."

Rachel's Surprise.

My trick and treat was finding a gorgeous box filled with my favorite French pastries.....macarons!  Rachel tricked me, by leaving them in my fridge to find later.  My favorite?  I think the raspberry was the best!  Thanks Rachel.  That was the best trick and treat....ever.  Aren't they beautiful?  Have you ever had one?

Macaron Firsts and Friends.

Last night I received the most unexpected surprise from my friend Shana.  {Who by the way, is so very lovely and a complete original}  She recently tried a macaron for the very first time!  Macarons are my absolute favorite.  I'm honored that she shared the amazing experience with me.  Thank you Shana!

Macarons: The Addiction Continues.

So, I bought myself a few.
Then gobbled them up with a fury.
Why do they make me so happy?
In the Spirit of Thanksgiving;
I am thankful for finding macarons this year.
{Thanks for the introduction Katie!}

Macaron Miracle.

Yesterday was the best Monday I've had in such a long time!
Firstly; Soba and I took lunch to Bryan and visited his store.
Which was such a superb outing for each of us.

Secondly; when we returned home I received a call
from my friend Elizabeth. {She's a talented pastry chef}
And she offered me her surplus of macarons.

She knows that I'm obsessed with the little darlings.
Elizabeth was kind enough to drop them off,
and oh, my goodness they were heavenly!
The brown was a chocolate hazelnut and the
orange was pumpkin. Sensational.
What a wondrous way to start the week!
