Los Angeles Art Walk

Last night Bunnie and I visited the down town art walk. I relish the opportunity to check out art in it's rawest forms. Our friends Steven and Emilio created an art installation that we so enjoyed. It was entitled, "Futurismo," a futuristic look into the desert. My favorite part was the space age tepee. It was a hoot going inside. Note to self: buy or make a tepee of my own. P.S. These photos look like an homage to 2001 A Space Odyssey.

Moon In Sight.

November 20, 2009 at 12:20am, I will be experiencing NEW MOON at the famous Archlight Theater in West Hollywood. I can't believe the moment has finally arrived after months of anticipation and heightened speculation. I look forward to getting my Jacob and Edward fix on! The rumors are true; I am Twi-Heart, don't judge.

Post Script: I sort of wish I was Bella Swan!

Bang, Bang!

I've been busy cutting my hair....
then carefully giving it a disheveled look.

Polaroids: Norton Simon Gardens.

These are some polaroids from yesterday's excursion to the always intriguing Norton Simon Museum. The weather was positively perfect; not too hot, and not too cold. I dare say Goldilocks would have chosen yesterday's weather! The top picture makes me laugh because I was mid crouch (trying to get to sister's 5 ft. height) when our photographer snapped the picture without warner. What a pipsqueak! You always warn a woman before taking a photo!

Norton Simon Museum.

Dear Diary,
Sister and I went to the Norton Simon Museum this afternoon. After taking in priceless works of art, we lunched at La Grande Orange for nachitos and chocolate nouveau cake. Is it possible to die of extreme culinary pleasure? The above pictures are some of my favorite pieces, paired with a couple of silly, out of focus pictures we snapped before we got in trouble by the curator! Tomorrow I'll share some polaroids we took in the gardens. I love stolen afternoons, perfect California weather, and a tiny sister to laugh with.
Love,
Ashley

Words Live On Forever.

My husband recently bought me an impossibly tattered copy of Sylvia Plath's THE BELL JAR. {I love it when books are already broken in.} I'm only two pages in, and I'm completely enamored by her aptitude for writing. Her fourth paragraph completely capitulates how I felt my first few years out of college;

"(I knew something was wrong with me that summer, because all I could think about was the Rosenbergs and how stupid I'd been to buy all those uncomfortable, expensive clothes, hanging limp as fish in my closet, and how all the little successes I'd totted up so happily at college fizzled to nothing outside the slick marble and plate glass fronts along Madison Avenue.)" -Sylvia Plath

Mi Mesa de Cocina.

Hooray for my lovely November tablecloth. I found it on clearance at T.J. Maxx when Bunnie and I were in New Mexico for the fourth of July! My party blooms look tres seasonal paired with the rust colored, paisley cloth. Is your house boasting this lovely change of season?
